Possibly continental, judging by passenger style, very tidy indeed. Only English guy like that was John Robinson but it deffo ain't 'im ...

I was sent the photo a year back but couldn't identify who. It's at Mount Hairpin at Scarborough, just before the plunge down the hill to the third hairpin. It's around 68-69, before my days in the North-East.

Ian, It certainly looks like an Imp, but the engines tilted backwards, not forwards like the proper ones!

The driver is John Biggs and the passenger is Tony Parr.
The bike is a home built Imp. They built 4 during their racing careers, the last one took them to second place in the british championship in 1972 behind Norman Hanks.

John had one of the first really quick Imps. We used to see them regularly at Croft and Silloth. They won the one and only British Championship meeting at Silloth in 1972. There was reportedly 11000 people crammed into the 1 mile circuit that day. I think his last Imp was bought by the Hardy brothers . They crashed on the approach to Laurel bank and Pete unfortunately lost his life.
