That looks like its on 12" wheels, but was built for a 16" front
With the high headstock . Dunlop racing chair wheel (I got some of them )
Are BSA's that thirsty ?

The pics are meant to go in the thread 'Can you help indentify these old shots from the TT?'
It is the George O'Dell outfit with nr.4 (last pic in that thread).
The outfit was originally built by Pat Sheridan, who killed himself with it I believe.
In 1972 O'Dell raced it at the TT with a 16 inch frontwheel, the next year in 73 he had a small frontwheel in it.
And yes it has magneto conversion.

Pat Sheridan got killed at Oulton Park, easter bank holiday at Knicker brook. I was there watching my dad race in the same race, I think somebody spun and quite a few outfits crashed into it

That was the race where Gary Bryan of RGB fame was paralysed, his passenger Pete Pritchard also lost his life.
The medical & race people got it wrong that day, wives were informed that riders/passengers had lost their lives , but they were alive, & other riders/ passengers were alive but it turned out they were dead.
After that terrible crash, "dog tags" were introduced so there would never be another terrible mistake as there was that day.
