The Wessie Wobbler

I have just spoken to Eileen (Keith Latheron's wife) and despite Keith spending a second night in hospital it appears the aged Northern throttle man is in one piece, battered but not broken, following his imaginative overtaking manouvre at the top of the Gooseneck at Cadwell. Fortunately younger bro Dave, who stayed on the outfit rather than bailing out, avoided a trip to hospital - these Northerners are made of hard stuff!

Glad old grey beard is OK.

Maybe you need a hard northern bastard in the chair, rather than a southern shandy-drinky sausage jockey who leaves the captain to go down with the ship!

Pleased to hear Keiths injuries are not serious and all the best to him for a rapid recovery and yes a very interesting manoeuvre, you should have seen the speed he came past us trying to go round the outside - like -no way was it gonna go round. It all looked a bit slow mo as the outfit tipped just before it slammed into the tyre wall, nasty!!

So he has an RGB prepared engine has he?!! That'll account for it being pretty damn quick. The question is who builds the fastest Wessie engine; Gary or John Simper? I know where my money is going :?:

Due respect to John Mike but no contest, It's a known fact that Gary Bryan builds the quickest Weslakes, Pumas & Triumph Weslakes.
In fact his own Triumph Weslakes are quicker than any full Weslake that's why he has always stayed with the Tri /Weslake :)

Reference Eddy Wright's North/South competition next year I have been giving it a bit of thought whilst at work today and don't think it would work cos the Northern lot would get such a paste-ing from the few Southern softies, that the Northern Numpties would end up looking silly! I await your responses.

Further to the original posting Keith is now at home with two broken ribs and the fact that he, during the incident, very nearly bit his tongue off which caused it to swell to some horrendous proportions, now requires him to drink his cider through a straw! He also claims that he didn't jump but was spat off the bike which is a bit like Kevin who just slipped and lost his grip as we went onto the grass!

Hi folks - this is a reply from the Wessie Wobbler! First of all, thanks to everyone who has enquired about my health. I am recovering slowly, but well, the biggest problem seemingly my tongue which I tried to chew off during the prang!! I just want to put the record straight as to our Wessie engine. As you may, or may not know, the Gary Bryans engine expired last year with catastrophic results. The engine we are using at the moment is one built by ourselves, so we are learning as we go. Hopefully next year we will be using mark 2 engine, and keeping mark 1 as a spare. Hopefully we can then manage a full season. Looking forward to seeing you all soon, or next season when, hopefully, everything will be fit and ready.
