What make of front shocks are people using? and any idea on spec? Going to be having a look at our front end as it is a bit stiff

No Steve it is a rigid rear chassis

And they work well Ian.
A lot of thought went into rigid back ends just when everyone else was fitting mini rubbers or suspension units. Theory with a rigid back end was you use the tyre as the "shock adsorber" & that's exactly what it was, a shock adsorber. Not a suspension unit like on a solo.
Question for all you "paddock" experts who jump up & down on other racers outfits & say " thats too soft or thats too hard" Who actually looks at the weight of the rider & passenger before making that comment?
Take a look at F1 car technology & see how little travel the suspension has on those cars, & it is very little because the wings make sure of that so that the ground force created by the suction of air travelling under the car isn't altered thus affecting the handling.
Next time you alter your infinetly adjustable suspension unit( cos that's what you've got) ask your self what your trying to achieve! also given that you've got an undertray that you hope is doing something.
How many racers consider the affect of tyre pressure on suspension settings?
Most people think the pressure is only there to keep the flat of the tyre on the track.
I hear racers say, what is the best pressure to run such & such a tyre on, & advise is freely given without any consideration to the riders/ passenger weight or the chassis they are racing.

Rigid rear end and want some form of suspension? Easy solution - find and fit an ancient Triumph sprung hub

The sprung hub was lovely bob, did you know many ridders that fitted them?

The sprung hub was truly awful. Bob will understand my history of riding Triumphs belonging to all and sundry and I can say the sprung hub was possibly one of the worst things I've had the pleasure of testing. It took up bumps ok in a straight line, but if you tried to change direction quicker than the QE2 I've not know anything wallow quite like it. It was up there with the Hesketh, that did a similar thing but for completely different reasons

Lighter springs if they're hagons you have on there, it's a cheap way to start and you're hardly going to notice the difference putting anything more exciting on there.

Nope, never seen one in anything apart from big-wheelers. Might be lovely on a chair but as a solo they were almost as bad as the 'flexi-fliers'

Don't think this is solving Ian's problem though, we seem to be away from that ...

People you are missunderstanding what I am asking. We are looking at changing the FRONT shocks. The rear is rigid and works very well for us. So back to topic any advice / recomendations for FRONT shocks please

Before Cadwell this year i had the same idea. I went to the good chaps at Falcon. Nice units and not to heavy on the wallet!
