Your mobile - is it a smartphone?
More to the point, does it allow you to check emails and browse the web?

oh yes, and vote  As I posted somewhere else a bit earlier, 29% of 18-44 year olds now have smartphones.
I'm working on installing a mobile version of the front of the site, joomla have templates and I'm going to have a play around with it see if I can get something useable working. I really like touchbb app for the iPhone but I'm not sure if other smartphones may have something similar in the future with the OS's on phones starting to come together a bit.
I hear that you can now use a lot of the Nokia 97 apps on the i8910 that I nearly upgraded to so this part of the market should build quite fast now, quicker than when the first mobile smartphones came out. I had a pda about 5 years ago on windows mobiles but what a beast of a thing that was :P

If you are into this sort of stuff, 'avinio' is a good tweeter to follow, always has good links to technology marketing and trends.

the problem with phone based web pages is there rubbish if you have a more modern phone, iphone ect, as the mobile websites are often harder to use than the real ones.

or at least thats what i have found

I have found that with the telegraph's site, they seem to dump a lot of content.

What I really am looking for is stripping back the images that aren't necessary and keeping links to all the articles and directory page etc. I don't want to lose content just fumf.

Try touchbb on your iphone Rich for this place. It works well :D I've already written to the developer as well as posting on his support site, asking that they have a 'view all unread posts' button added to the ones on it so far :P

Great chatting with Steve and Mandy yesterday evening, to use an old phrase 'it was as though they were in the same room' - the quality was that good. I'm deffo a confrimed Skype user, now to chat with various friends and family in UK :D
