A little poll to canvass opinion. (I know we have been here before but there are a few who race now who did not during the last debate ).

Ian - wasn't sure how to answer the poll!! I don't want to go to push starts - but wouldn't NOT race with CRMC if it was adopted.

There is always one Same as me mate - go for the 'not bothered option' as ulimately you would stil race with the club.

I love push starts, but to be honest the grids went down the last time the club had them, and thats the most important thing to consider.
It would however make some of the "very fast high compression twins" handicapped as they take more pushing so that might be an advantage to the rest of the grid.

Agree with you Eddy - nothing should reduce the seemingly booming grids we have been enjoying. However as you brought up the subject in another thread I thought a poll may give an indication? Looking at the voting at the moment there are 6 for and only 3 against - wonder if they are all currently racing with the club?

You see this is why the classic sidecar grid is the success it is - riders are prepared to throw their ideas into the pot. I as representative can listen to your ideas and take them to the club and hey presto a better place for all!

I thought a mid-winter training week in Gran Canaria was a good idea - but only Eddy, Vicky and the lovely blonde Helen have shown interest.

The March test day IS a great idea - I was thinking of using the Belgian Croix en Ternois first round as a tester, but Mallory sounds good - let me know what you would like me to do to help.

Another sound idea is the return to push starts. Ian, if you could let me know which drivers - Eddy, you etc., would like to return to push starts - this Sunday is a committee meeting, so perfect timing. I suggest a slight compromise - the riders who want to return to push starts start from the rear of the grid for safety reasons, whilst the rest of us invalids clutch start at the drop of the flag. This might give Eddy and yourself a slight handicap but at least you would have the warm feeling that you were starting in the manner of the classic period - a near perfect solution!! So - let me know by Saturday afternoon please.

One small point - with the Imp being so easy to start, unlike the big BMWs, the Weslakes and Andy Rayner's 650 Triumph, my push starts would encourage more Imps and less bike motors - a topic from earlier in the week if my memory serves me well.

Should we also return to the original classes when the CRMC was formed i.e. P1 16" wheels and larger, any engine, any size you fancy - P2 smaller than 15" wheels, any motor, any size. I can see this being especially popular with the current P2 guys!

Finally, please read this in the manner it was written - tongue firmly in cheek - i.e. no dummies and toys out of prams!! And no phones off hooks!!!

And as for winter training camps in Gran Canaria then please do count P and Myself in for a bit o that.

Love the suggestion about push starting at the back or another way is to have the push starters going off 10 seconds ahead of the clutch start and then by the time you catch up we could have got out breath back.....

Just noticed the options on the pole and they looked a bit tilted on the side of petulance with the 'no - wont race with club if adopted' what about phils point about 'no -it wouldnt stop me racing' or 'no and i'll only race at circuits with a downhill start' ?

How about push starts go clockwise around the circuit and the clutch starters go anti-clockwise?

Reference Mike B periods - I've never been too sure about these things! The old Banshee, born in 1959 hasn't had a proper period since the big change a few years ago! The Windle, a much younger model, seemed to suffer from PMT most of the season!

Really? I felt that was the easiest way of showing a clear Yes or no. If you start having too many options then a true picture wont emerge. Eg I am sure someone would want the option of ; Yes - but only on the day oafter the evening of a full moon, with a daytime temperature of 21.54 degrees and 6.345 hours of sunshine! Ok that is a little srcastic but you get my meaning I hope?

I think it needed an option 'I am a banana'. We have loads of people vote for that one every time Usually people who don't realise you can view results without voting
