The Sidenet Twins ...

Unread post by Fritz »

I came across this Father and Son team during an open practice session at The Three Sisters circuit near Wigan Lancashire, they seemed relatively new to sidecar racing but everything they owned was pristine.........

Image

Looking back Dave Holden had his machine painted in similar colours around about the same time...This shot taken on the grid at Aintree,,,,Bill Currie's bike in the back ground.
Marshal is long serving AMRC man Ron Pimblet.

Taken on the inside at club corner Aintree once again...

Sid and Dave Lyon had some good performances which led them to Preston/Waterloo and North West Centre championships during their time with the 350 Yamaha in the early 90's.
Sid went back to his furnature shop in Barrow and then on to develop the' Sidenet' web pages till the gremlins nobbled the whole thing, his son David was last heard of at University of his choice learning stuff....... :ugeek:

After that I know nothing..............can you help, I'm sure they still read these pages but stay silent........

Regards

Hi Paul, I spoke to Sid at Aintree in 2005, he was there spectating. He helped me with a problem I had been having. We stayed in contact via email for a while. Last I heard a couple of years later was that he wasn't in the best of health.
