Listing licence numbers, there's a funny idea

Along with Vic Phillips on the 1000cc Nerus Impetus, the first of the Imp powered outfits IIRC. NErus was, at that time, the leading Imp tuner when they were taking on and occasionally beating the mighty Minis in circuit racing.

Alan Sansum was always a joy to watch with his beautiful drifting technique, chuck it in sideways to scrub off speed, stretch the throttle cable with loadsa opposite lock and already pointing straight out of the corner - superb!

Other gooduns there apart from the Birmingham mob - Mick Horspole, Pete (It only cost me a fiver, luv) Hardcastle, Barry Lock, Mick Ruocco, Adrian Swindells and many others including the Brit Beem runners.

He emigrated to Canada about a week after he sold us Terry's outfit (which worried us for a bit ) I think we paid about 400 quid for it at the time, we couldn't afford Pip Harris's Bee Emm outfit which was offered to us by Graham Milton for a grand. If only you could turn the clock back.........
Incidentally, the outfit which Dick Maplethorpe was driving was the first machine I ever passengered at Snetterton in 1967? It was a Greenwood frame with a Triumph Bonny motor.

Does anyone know the whereabouts of Dick Maplethorpe,i believe he was from the Louth area back in the 60's Thank you

Tony Wakefield , and Pete Hardcastle. Mossy was on with his brother John. did it rain that day, l remember going to one and it poured down, not sure when.

Dick Mablethorpe lived at Holbeach in the 60's, i think he lives near Skegness now

Hmmm, I wonder if #48 I. Fillery is the same Ian Fillery I know. He was a former SRA-East champion and the president when I signed up in 1988. He retired that winter. Caught up with him again at our last race of 2010 when he pitched a tent behind our pit area and hung out with the current club members for the weekend. My passenger had transferred some old 1970's TV footage from Laguna and Long Beach to DVD and projected it on an inflatable drive in screen, much to Ian's delight as he ran both those races and had never seen the footage.

Could well be the same Ian Fillery I think Chris.
