What's happened to the CRMC forum?
Did something happen I don't know about. Last time I looked I couldn't see anything wrong.
I did notice that it wasn't being used much though.

Not being a member of the CRMC I've never had access to it, sorry.

From the site:
vBulletin Message
The CRMC forum has been temporarily withdrawn.
This is because it has been decided that in it’s current form it isn’t representing the club in the light that it should and could.
In other words the CRMC provides a wonderful, friendly, happy and fun atmosphere in which to go Classic motorcycle racing.
Work is currently underway to completely re-format the forum, so that it has a different feel and provide a fantastic medium for exchange of ideas, information and experiences.
Many lessons have been learnt and this will be incorporated into the new forum, which be released within the next few weeks. If you have any positive comments and suggestions as to how the new forum should be constructed and what sections it should include, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Not sure quite what the problem is though

No doubt someone will have said something mildly contentious or, even worse, deigned to have deviated from agreeing with committee by as much as 0.1%, therefore Teddy has been expelled from the pram and we have had our forum shut down and have been made to stand in the naughty corner for a month or so.
The Classic Club has always been the same and, presumably, always will be. Certain members of the committee seem to think that it's run for their benefit and it is a major inconvenience to them that they actually have to engage with some of the plebians who actually race the bikes. Obviously I do not mean Ian, Jono, John or Mark.

Going back about 12 years ago when I was Eligibility Secretary for the Forgotten Racing Club, I tried to get in touch with the Classic Club's Eligibility Secretary to see what they thought about having a combined grid of Forgotten Era outfits & Classic Club outfits, given the fact that more classic guys were racing with Forgotten Era than with the Classic Club.
This was at a time when the Classic Club grids were dwindling. They never came back to me.
I then handed the job over to Stu Mellor & a few years later I tried to register for the Classic Club Forum. I got a reply of "LIFE TIME BAN" or words to that effect! I must have upset one of their shirt lift--s big time!!!

I think things have changed a bit now Ian.
Still don't get many post classic's though (CRMC, sidecar, period 4).
Any starting this season Ian (Sidecar Bloke)?

I would say things have changed quite a lot too. Ian (Sidecar Bloke) has done a sterling job with the Sidecar grids, and the Officials in general could'nt be more helpful. The marshalls are first class, and the entry fees are same has the solo class. It's a pleasure to race with them, and we get at least four races over a weekend.

How nice it is to here someone say something nice about the C.R.M.C, why is it that when something is changed and someone blames the committee, it may be that they want a better forum. So Eddy thanks for sticking up for our club. P.S. no I am not on the committee.

I agree with Ed, the club is superb to race with, and the competition is good. The riders reps are fabulous and the organisation second to none. It's merely the sneering attitude and self-importance of one or two on the committee that gets up my nose.

Please don't forget that all of the Committee are volunteers, don't get paid, put in a lot of time and are doing their best and that has been so since the club was formed as all clubs are.We all have our own views, and there will always be differing opinions,so please don't lets moan about their opinions and rules. Help them by making suggestions about the issues which you think need addressing in a civil manner,or if you consider you could do better, step up to the plate and get elected.I wouldn't want such a job.I believe they do a great job despite not agreeing with some decisions over the years. Lets be thankful that there are people that are prepared to give their time so we can race, time is one thing you cannot replace.

For sidecars to be as popular as they are in the CRMC right now, i feel it's down to the sidecar eligability bloke who has positively encouraged teams rather than criticise them behind their backs like the last one did. It only takes one kiljoy to lower the atmosphere. Ian Johnson has breathed fresh life into the CRMC (which appeared to have coincided with his 'new' outfit, propelling him to the front of the field but good on him n all that)
Of course, there's the enthusiasm of the teams too which is what makes the CRMC sidecar paddock so friendly & the racing on the track, superb like it should be & was in 2009
