CRMC Race Regs available

Unread post by Simon Smith »

I see the Crmc race regs are available on the web site.

Anyone know why sidecars have to pay more than solos at Knockhill?

Also, entry fee for for Donington is £275. Was it that much last year?

I have always understood that the reason sidecars pay more for entry fees are that there are 2 people on the bike, driver & passenger, so double insurance.

The insurance is paid on top of the entrance fee.

The class entry cost is the same as solos at all rounds except Knockhill.

Just wondered why Knockhill is different.

If you are paying the same per machine with approx half or two thirds the number on the grid the solos are still paying more in total for the tracktime as it was explained to me. Hence put sidecars last race, less to refund if you run out of time.

To finish that reply.. maybe with Knockhill being a small grid the difference there is even more pronounced, or they're not expecting a full grid of sidecars so the per machine cost has to go up?
Think money, organisers have to.

Hi Simon, I am sure the entry is the same for Knockhill as the other meetings with only Donington and Mallory being different? Donington is always stupid money but can't see why Mallory is so expensive?

We noticed that Donnington was a bit pricey when we were doing all of the paperwork last night, but took the view:

A. It's a really good track so shut up and pay up.
B. We'll probably get the money back when it's cancelled anyway.

One question begs asking; If Brands was can cancelled due to cost, but £275 for Donnington is deemed to be OK, how much would Brands have been if it had gone ahead??

As an aside, with us running the Imp and a solo each at Pembrey works out a lot cheaper than you might imagine, but makes the paperwork a nightmare!

Great to read all the reasons why the sidecars are paying more than solos at Knockhill. Sadly the answer is much simpler - it's a cock up!! Prices should be the same as the solos. If you are extremely on the ball and have already entered you will receive a refund when you sign on.

For the rest of us that are a little bit slower off the mark just send in the same amount as the solos. If in doubt ask the sidecar bloke.

Thanks Ian.

It did cross my mind that it may just be a typo (honest).

As for the costs. £275 for Donington is expensive but I don't mind supporting the circuit in its time of need.

I hope its going to be OK.

Its good to see the CRMC are still supporting the sidecars by keeping the entry fees the same as solos. Most clubs charge more. I suppose that now we have full grids and reserves it could change next year.

Also, the running order is changed at each meeting so everybody has to go last at some point.

All entries will be in the post tomorrow.
