Going on from the discussion about the Konnig's.
When was the Weslake ( Rickman ) 8 valve head first raced? Not the Read Rickman engine, the Weslake top end?

Ordered mine in 1967,took delivery in early 1968.

I've just spoken with Bill Currie, to his recollection the " kit" 8 valve top end came out in 1968, this was a year before he finished 3rd at the TT ( 1969 ) on a Triumph.
The full Weslake motor appeared in 1970, Martyn Ashwood rode it in a solo then Bill had it in his sidecar. This motor had a totally different bottom end to what is now known as the Weslake / Nourish engine. The full motors which we have to day appeared late in 1970.
