DADS OLD BMW SIDECAR INCREDIBLEY FOUND

Unread post by jdutton »

After putting a post on this web site just to see out of interest if any of my dads (ROGER DUTTON) sidecars from the 1970s were still around, not only did i find one but it was his best sidecar, a bmw that he had a 6th place on. It was also in near original condition apart from the colour, although it had been stood and had'nt turned a wheel for 25 years. For me my family and my dad it was like finding the titanic but better and after going to look at it and confirming with photos that it was his bike we have now managed to actually buy the bike and have now got it home where it belongs. It was covered in cob webs and needs a total restoration but we plan to restore it and put it back to rogers colours numbers and even stickers. He rode this bike in 1973 1974 and did many grand prix races with his passenger TONY WRIGHT, they finnished 13th in the world on this bike in 1973 even after missing a few rounds. We would like to thank everone on this site who helped with infomation on the bike .Regards jolian and roger dutton :D :D
