Any Pictures of........
Racing at the original Donington circuit, going down the hill to the old Melbourne hairpin?
No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Re: Any Pictures of........
The first one looks like the run down past Redgates down to the hairpin from what I remember. (Having seen pics before, not having been there at the time) or is that back up from the run down past Redgates? See, I can't remember at all
I know it's the old bit

Great pics - the top one is a Mercedes Benz, possibly Dick Seaman, and the other two are Auto Unions - the original rear engined GP racing cars.

I can remember the old Castrol film shows that did the rounds in the late 60s, early 70s. There was one , of the last Grand Prix held there just before the war. At the time I couldnt relate it to the modern Donington though, as it hadnt been built.

Ah yes! Not forgetting the Champion spark plugs films too

It is true about the sidecar family - you can stop racing but you can never, ever leave!

Re: Any Pictures of........
Got a video somewhere in one of the boxes
still trying to unpack
of the auto union cars at donnington in the 30s will try to find it and see if i can put it on .
In the early years they used to race motorbikes through the farm yard and they would have to close the gate behind them
think i might have some film of that as well when i get five minutes i will have a look for it (after the health&safety/swimming pool/alcohol licence course oh no done that one
management meeting )
anyway will see what i can find
just noticed telegraph poles on last picture
and back wheels off the ground its going that fast its distorted the body
