The first one looks like the run down past Redgates down to the hairpin from what I remember. (Having seen pics before, not having been there at the time) or is that back up from the run down past Redgates? See, I can't remember at all :lol: I know it's the old bit :P

Great pics - the top one is a Mercedes Benz, possibly Dick Seaman, and the other two are Auto Unions - the original rear engined GP racing cars.

remember talking to an old guy at donny in the 80 s.he told me about the mercs in the 30 s had storm troopers guarding the cars and used to come in for a pitstop refuel and add a quart of oil

I can remember the old Castrol film shows that did the rounds in the late 60s, early 70s. There was one , of the last Grand Prix held there just before the war. At the time I couldnt relate it to the modern Donington though, as it hadnt been built. ;) ;)

Got a video somewhere in one of the boxes :roll: still trying to unpack :? of the auto union cars at donnington in the 30s will try to find it and see if i can put it on .
In the early years they used to race motorbikes through the farm yard and they would have to close the gate behind them :shock: :lol: :lol: :lol: :? think i might have some film of that as well when i get five minutes i will have a look for it (after the health&safety/swimming pool/alcohol licence course oh no done that one :roll: management meeting )
anyway will see what i can find 8-)just noticed telegraph poles on last picture :shock: :shock:and back wheels off the ground its going that fast its distorted the body :lol: :lol: :lol:
