Nice one Bludge but thats Phil Luhrs outfit
Phil being a true gent would never dream of doing such underhand activities.....
Seriously though I reckon Phil Luhr and Dave Currall will really up their game with this modification. Their bike was a complete pig before, all be it a very shiney pig.
Phil - make sure you get yerself booked in for the practice on Friday - You now have a lot of pressure to 'come up with the goods'

Thanks Mike. I would only do such a dastardly trick if pole was vacant.
Not only have I got a new front end I've also been under attack from rival pirates and it resulted in me being scalped.

So now Ive got a go fast hair do.

Wheels may be of the following diameters: 10", 12", 13", 15", 16", 18" or 19". Any currently available type may be used, with the following provisos: the width of the tyre must be in keeping with the period of the machine, and in particular in the case of 10",12",13" and 15" wheels the width of the tread in contact with the track shall not be wider than 140mm or 5.5 inches. Slicks (or hand-cut slicks) are not permitted on
any wheel.
Surely the underlined part applies to the overall width of the tyre wall which is stretched with wider rims more than they were "back in the day".
I think this just needs clearing up as before all the modern classics came about the maximum wheel width was 5.5 inches.

the rules for tyre width is the tread width and has always been so in the crmc the rim width is irrelevant although best to use the recommended rim widths of the tyre manufacturers. all of the tyre sizes currently used on crmc s/cars have been used in the 60's and up till 72.this is very clear to me,its the tread width that counts, people in the period put tyres on rims that were to wide to no advantage at all.its all been done before ! if you put any tyres that comply with crmc for example tyres that were used in the period, like the 10" Dunlop CR65 L10 you will find that the overall width is 6.5" on the dunlop recommended rim width. on the 13" avon's that a lot of us use the tread width complies with crmc rules with an overall width of 7.875" with a rim width of 6.5". i have not seen anybody in crmc s/cars that does not adhere to the tyre rules of the club
