I am almost certain peeps on here will be able to tell us about the fortunes of Rick Roberts as he was in good fettle during the 90's with the likes of Wally Saunders Bill Copson and Brian Rostron and with John Kershaw at the circuit at Derby,,,,,, Darley Moor.......

I got to know John Kershaw while racing on the moor and at the Aintree circuit nr Liverpool, on one occasion got to passenger for John at Darley on a LWB Colin Jacob's machine he bought after many years racing a SWB machine, we had a good day but could not get anywhere near Eric Knight (Gary's dad) on a very quick 700 Yamaha.

The last time I came across John and his team (Mrs and his 2 sons) was in Belgium at the circuit Chimay,,,in 1994, they were having problems with their motor siezing up due to a dodgey carburettor.

After that I never saw them ever again..........John was from Bollington just outside Macclesfield and was in the building game......

Where is he now ?

PS, John's passenger at Chimay if my memory is correct was a chap called Will Hodgson.

Last time i saw John was at Darley in 94 where he was running a Krauser motor in a Windle .......and Rick was at Oulton last season to watch me and Tappo on the BMW

well john still lives in bollington just up the road from myself,not seen rick for ages contact me if you need any more info,you may remember myself too,i had a tz 750 after my kwakas paul ellison and ray timmins racing. I started sidecar racing together with john i was his passenger on an old honda outfit,before i went working away to fund my new sidecar.

Did John Kershaw once run an MGF 750 Suzuki triple ?????

Remember you Paul, sure you guys were out in the early 80's on that TZ ??? might be just my memory with age now and bloody quick that TZ was our 998 Kwak was no match for it

Although I haven’t seen him for a while, I believe Rick to be fit and well and still living in Mossley (Lancs), all being well he will be on with Stuart Applegate this year for a couple of selected Classic meetings.

What sort of classic has Apple got Wally?

Geoff , Apple has got a new M R EQUIPE 750 16" BMW which he is finishing off himself, which he has had almost a year He has also got a Trident which he plays with

The Trident I remember we talked about the Trident at the Southern last year. Im suprised he hasnt gone for an Imp. He was very successful on one ,early 70s

Had some good days racing against John Kershaw and watched some good battles in the early yrs when my old man and John were both racing on the old GT750 outfits in the early 80's mostly at Darley Moor..my racing started at Darley as Eric Knights passenger..till we had a big off on the mound of mud at the bottom of the straight nr the start line

Not a good place to come off Eric,what was your dads name,I still see Eric and Gary from time to time had a drink in Lanzarote with Eric and his good lady lovely family,was it Peter?
