Re: Scarborough today, any results?
Qualifying:
Dave Molyneux/Patrick Farrance at 1-56-746
Ian Bell/Carl Bell 1-57-772
Conrad Harrison/Lee Patterson 1-59-555
Dave Wallis/Steve Wareham 1-59-943
Tony Thirkell/Nige Barlow 2-02-497
Carl Fenwick/Mark Sayers 2-02-535
Steve Ramsden/John McWhir 2-03-567
Dave Lillie/Lee Watson 2-08-195
Robin Daykin/Annette Daykin 2-12-616
Unfortunately Conrad didn't feel too good after qualifying, difficulty in breathing normally-went to the local hospital where they said he has some fluid where it shouldn't be so CH had to sit out the racing. Times were fast, Moly's fastest-ever lap with Patrick, Ian's with Carl, and Carl and Mark's best ever.
Race 1: At Mere, Bell led from Molyneux,Wallis, Fenwick, Ramsden, Thirkell, Lillie and Daykin. Moly got past Ian on lap 3 at Mountside and two laps later Dave Wallis moved into second coming into memorial. Both Ramsden and Thirkell had relegated Fenwick. Dave and Lee in second achieved their best ever official lap time with 1-57-461 as did Carl and Mark with 2-02-858.
Race 2: Bell led into Mere but Wallis got ahead under braking with Moly nearly relegating Bell to third, the usual superb first-lap-at-Mere mayhem! - Fenwick ahead of Thirkell followed by Ramsden, Lillie and Daykin. Lap 2 and Moly had got through to lead and Ian followed a lap later. Fastest lap of the day to Moly and Patrick with 1-56-056 and they went on to win by 5 seconds plus. Wallis kept Bell honest with both doing best ever laps- Dave down to 1-56-768 and Ian 1-57-038 (Ian's best ever with Carl that is- Mr Carpenter was in the chair when they were doing 1-56s 7-8 years back!) Carl and Mark reduced their best to 2-01-416 and Steve Ramsden got under 2-02 for the first time with 2-01-706. Steve slowed on the last lap after harrying Tony/Nige for the first five laps.
Two good races on a very hot day - forecast for tomorrow is thankfully a little cooler.
