TT Newcomers

Ok, if you are thinking of doing the 2011 TT, I need to hear from you NOW.
So far I have one possible from Australia and one from the IOM!
If you are considering competing in 2011, please get in touch. You can email me: helenbmerry@manx.net or PM me on here.
Newcomers are welcome to come and stay either with me, with one of my friends, or if you have friends here already, fine. I can help you get "mentoring" from experieneced drivers or passengers, and arrange for you to have laps together as a team, or separately. Sometimes a car can also be borrowed, or trips in a minibus arranged.
Historically, the most successful newcomers have spent as much time as possible here, familiarising themselves with the course, so come across as often as you can. Until you actually go out on those closed roads you will never completely "get" the lines, but knowing which bit comes next will be invaluable. You will always be welcome.
In the past there have been "newcomer weekends", and I hope that will happen again, depending on budgets, of course. (Things are a bit tight here now!)
These weekends are usually in February, before entries close, and comprise trips out with experienced TT competitors, a night/couple of nights out with solo and sidecar newcomers included, some photos for the TT team to use in publicity, and lunch. You will also get DVDs etc. Flights and hotel have been offered in past years, but I am not sure about this time...if not, as long as you can pay your travel, I will undertake to find you accomodation.
In the meantime, get in touch and get across!
