I think they ran their own BSA very nice piece of kit if I remember and it went like a bullet. We raced against them in the early 80's at Cadwell. The ex Neil Miles BSA was bought by George Wilmshaw (or Wilshaw) and the last time I saw it was at Cadwell when he crashed at the Gooseneck. I don't know what happened to George or the outfit after that.

Should have said I am referring to the Scottish Hogg brothers, not the Yorkshire ones.

Whatcha John.

When the F2 sidecar rules were first drawn up 1,000cc four stroke twins were allowed
and a crew from north of the border, Hogg Bros, raced a BMW outfit. It was a beautiful
machine with chain final drive. This was obtained by mounting the final drive cardon behind
the gear box with a shaft through the wheel spindle hole on the other end of which the final
drive sprocket was mounted.
I contacted them to try to buy the outfit for the TT. It was not for sale but I was offered
the loan of it. What great guys.

I have been thinking [some task] How is it that Scotland and the Isle of Man have produced
many many more champions per head of the population than the UK. From Scotland we have
had Jock Taylor, Alistair Lewis ....and perhaps the greatest talent of all... Colin Lewis.
From here on the Island there is Dave Molly, Nicky Crowe and others plus passenger Dan Sayle etc.

When you consider the substantial extra travel costs involved costs it makes their achievements
even more commendable.

I have been reliably informed that Alistaire Lewis now owns the said Hogg BMW.
