Not dissagreeing with you Mike but Mac Hobson/ Geoff Atkinson on the Cowie BSA took some beating.

I used to enjoy Chris Chant(?) on his Vincent - or more particularly his passenger who had a very "individual" style, and was the first one I had ever seen with a knee-slider on his backside

I was racing at Siloth in the mid 60`s and well rember Mac Hobson was there on a BSA I did not have to look for him, I could here the squeal of his brakes all around the circuit.

Yes Martin Davenport was really entertaining and quick we had some good battles with him and Bryan Sutton during the Mallory Park championship on our imp in 1977. i think i can remember him at some north glos meeting as well.

I remember Martin Davenport Merv ( my dad raced against him) oneday at Mallory park when I had my long bike (
![Evil or Very Mad ](./images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)
) he passed me round the outside at devils elbow on the drag to the line
![Surprised :o](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)
I went to talk to him afterwards he was on a GS1000 short bike with about 2 foot long inlets on it (exageration)
![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
and he reckoned thats how he passed me
![notworthy :notworthy:](./images/smilies/notworthy.gif)
Modern engines had to short an inlet track for a sidecar
![notworthy :notworthy:](./images/smilies/notworthy.gif)
Looking back I think he was right
![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
I also agree with you Geoff about Mac Hobson, I got my Dad oneday at Oulton park to go and get his autograph (and he was racing against him) i've still got it

My two most memorable memories are
1 Jock Taylor at East Fortune when he broke the outright lap record
2 Owen Greenwood at Bevridge Park (Kirkcaldy) in the Mini
based outfit..awesome

Martin Davenport's and Chris Chant's passenger was the unforgetable Bryan Sutton (Blue leathers and legs about 4 feet long)
