Ferry is still expensive (it is the IoMSPC, after all !

) but comparative to the TT it is a much more affordable meeting to get to. Last year I went over as a foot passenger, which cost about £42 for a return ticket from Heysham. I left my car there in the secure carpark, which added a further £7 a day onto the overall cost; but felt it safer than leaving it in a side street. To take a vehicle over, it does tend to get more expensive - I looked at taking over my car (Honda Accord) and it was going to come in at £300 give or take.
The Southern is nearly always a good meeting. It's definately worth going to at least once; as Steve says, camping in the paddock isn't usually a problem so long as people observe the usual codes of conduct you would expect to follow at any other circuit.

Cheers Bruce, that's worth knowing. I think someone else mentioned they had done that last year too.

Yes they're cool with that for a donation

It's all those who just park & leave without asking that hacks them off a little
There was no room there in 2009 but they showed me a space across the road which was available & i left it there for a week.
I then brought Coxy's kids back with me & I rang them up at the pub & asked them to check my car was okay so that i didn't turn up to find a flat tyre or anything. They popped over & checked for me
