Just found this on another Forum. Don't know how true it is but worth noting
tt warning !!!!!

ok lads and lasses just a quick heads up on the route to heysham from the m6 , the dibble will be all over lancaster day and night with their money guns sorry safety speed guns..

they have even been known to wait on motorway bridges nr lancaster as well .

also the dual carriage way 4 miles from the port is 40 mph at first then changes to 60 and right at the end bit its 50 again and they are hiding on it trust me..

and when you get to the port most years they have big search teams and drug dogs etc only stopping bikes ffs ...

i live 4 miles from heysham and see it every year lads ..

just thought you should know ..............

Thanks for that information about the troturous trek to Heysham, luckly we are going from Liverpool and returning to Liverpool which for once is fantastic seeing as we live less than 14 miles inland from the Pier Head.

It's not just the bikes they pull!!! the last few years they've checked the back of one or the other of our vans, last year they checked all three !!!! :o They checked over 50% of the vans that night.

Have so say they were mainly sidecar people.......hmmmmm maybe we just look suspicious!!

It's true people, I work at Heysham power station and the police activity is ramping up, to miss out the 40 mph part of the dual carriageway, take the first exit off the first roundabout out of Lancaster, go past Tesco, second exit at next roundabout, first exit at next roundabout, you are on the bypass to Heysham, be careful, there are 3 or 4 hiding places along the road, I am trying to get over for the sidecar races, it depends on work.
Stay safe folks, hope to see you all there.
