Team Past It- The dream goes on

The dream just gets better and better for the dynamic duo. At the awards presentation ceremony in pit lane after the Senior TT Robin and Annette collected their finishers medals :dancers: and were then presented with the Marshall's Newcomers Award :trophy: :dancers: :dancers: . The only other names so far on this trophy are Tim Reeves/Patrick Farrance and the Birchall brothers. They keep the trophy for a year but got two smaller ones to keep. They watched all the other teams get their awards but as John and Andy were being photographed with the winner's trophy Team Past It returned to their camp, the cold was getting through to Robin's old bones and he needed his cocoa. We had only just got back when Nicky Dukes came to tell them they were wanted in pit lane again. It turned out that they had only been presented with the award for the most meritous performance in the sidecar class :trophy: :dancers: :dancers: :dancers: . Robin and Annette 'rushed' back to pit lane and had to wait until after the Senior race presentation to be called up again so they could be photographed with the huge cup, that has to stay in the IoM, and a silver replica each to keep. Just to complete the whirlwind of an occasion John and Andy were still there and the four gladiators had their photos taken together, a photo that Robin and Annette will treasure.
This was a great and well deserved ending to two weeks of hard work and effort for these two fantastic ambassadors for sidecar racing. To say we (the helpers who just did a bit of fettling and polishing here and there) are proud of them is a massive understatementand it was a great honour and pleasure to be with them :notworthy: .

Robin and Annette will soon be worldwide superstars too. An Austrian camera crew were filming a documentary of Klaffi and did a lot of filming of Team Past It showing the other end of the sidecar scene. Unfortunately this will not be shown in the UK but we believe it will be shown in quite a few continental countries. The Manx press and the Red Bull magazine also did interviews with them. I bet Robin is now glad he didn't pack up and go home after the first (newcomers) lap of the TT course, which is what he felt like doing. It may not be another 54 years before he returns to race on the mountain course again though, after all they have to return the Marshall's cup next year so Team Not So Past IT might as well give the outfit another airing.

Special thanks have to be given to Geoff Bell who prepared the engine that has been used for all practice and racing, has not missed a beat and still sounds as sweet as it did on day one.......and it did 132.4mph through the Sulby speed trap  .

They did a brilliant job and so did you and the rest of the team, it looks as though you solved the fuelling problem.
Probably the most important ingredient, was the info you gave to Robin re the braking points, now they have put that info into practice, we should be looking at a podium next year!.

Dan, any chance of getting those photos posted, so the unfortunate ones that had to go home can see them as well. I bet it was a glorious sight.
