Hello

Can anyone help me?
I bought an F2 sidecar fitted with pc25 engine. The saler told me that it was a Derbyshire sidecar, but on the steering head is stamped DRRD 83/103 ...

What's this DRRD ? Derbyshire?

Thanks

The people who might know are probably racing this weekend. I expect on Monday when everyone gets back from racing you will get a good answer :) 8-)

Hi from what I can see the front and rear hubs, swinging arm and forks are Terry Windle's work. I do not think Terry ever used a round tube across the frame to the sidecar wheel, he preferred a fabricated box with a "top hat" section. Cheers

We are ok to say that the front and rear are from Terry Windle, but the chassis ???
I searched on the web for DRRD, but nothing....I think it was made in the UK, because it have been sell by Davedean75 there's a few time. I sent him a message but no answer.

Nobody have never seen this sidecar?

I didn't find any photo of Derek Rumble's chassis, but visibly he makes vintage sidecars.... no?

It may well be an old Derbyshire. Much of John's work 'resembled' Windle's. The wheels that he had cast were very similar, as was the swinging arm. I know at least one of Derbyshire's chassis was built using Windle running gear.
Pat Gallagher would probably be able to identify it one way or another.

Defo Windle running gear ;) I think Grant is on the money with Derek Rumble, I think that bike originally had a 600 yam in it. ;) The mounting of the pedal box and the tube from the sidecar joining the downtubes are very Rumble ish ;)

As Mike said - looks quite like Rumble - here's a picture of a Rumble - may even be the same bike - the previous owner of this bike lives near to us....
AFAIK - Derek (Rumble) used to use Windle Forks / Wheels etc - so looking more like it being one of Derek's bikes - if it had been a derbyshire - wheels would be different - I've got both Windle & Derbyshire wheels here - so will have to take a look when I get a minute...
