Are balls the future?

I have been approached by several CRMC sidecar crews who would like to try a different method of setting the grids. I was initially going to write to all regular CRMC runners and riders for their opinion on this subject. To save me some money - if as many regular crews as possible could PM me with their views, I will then write to everyone who hasn't responded.
So - here goes:-
At the moment the first grid of the weekend is based on championship standing, the second grid - how you finished the first race, the third and fourth grids - well you can work it out!
Alternative system:-
Get the balls out! Until we can get the 750's out on their own the P3's and 4's will be at the front, the P1's and 2's behind. Assuming we have twenty P3's and 4's and nine 1's and 2's; we have two bags of balls, one with 20 balls in it and one with 9. Everyone draws a ball out of the appropriate bag and that sets the grid for the first race Saturday. The second race Saturday this grid would be reversed - still 1's and 2's starting behind 3's and 4's.
Sunday - first race - new balls. New draw, new grid. Second race Sunday - reverse grid.
As I said, if all regular CRMC competitors could PM me with their views ASAP. I do know one or two want to stick with the current system, and it has to be said the CRMC Classic grid has been fantastically well supported these last few years so phrases like "if it ain't bust don't fix it" have been voiced. But, also most regulars, if we were racing next weekend, could predict the starting and finishing positions of the grid. If you look at the Handicap Race at Snetterton - a grid that was tipped on it's head and produced some fantastic racing, spuring one or two drivers to drive, it would appear, out of their skin because they perceived they had a really good chance of getting to the flag first.
So, once again, regulars PM me; the rest of the forum readers feel free to chuck your two pennyworth in!
A new topic should keep Ed happy anyway and stop everyone falling asleep!
