Had a quick look at the entry docs and thought I might look into it.
Then I enquired about the ferry costs.
Can you get a discount or something?

The Pre-TT and Southern 100 are usually sponsored / subsidised by the Steam Packet. When your entry is accepted and you receive your final instructions, a unique code is issued to each competitor, which allows them to book the ferry at a discounted rate. In past years, the outward sailings have been Tues / Wed / Thu before the event, and the return ones the following Tues / Wed. If you choose to stay on for the rest of TT fortnight, then you are subject to the full TT period fares. I think we paid about £215 for a Hyundai H100 van and 2 passengers in 2010; prices were similar last year too from what I gather. Compared with what we paid in 2011 as TT competitors / support - it was nearly £600 for a similar sized van and two occupants.

Tims right, if you get an entry the Southern Club subsidise the ferry cost. It's a fantastic meeting Simon, and you can always stay on, and watch the TT.

Hi Simon, give it a go. I first did it in 1965 with Jimmy Man.
It was,and is one of the very best meetings. The organization and atmosphere
are unique. what about doing it yourself this year, and bringing the whole
Gristwood and Toms Amada over in 2013.
I may be able to help you with accomodation.
Dick
