On my old F2 style TZ750 I used to line up on the grid so that I had a clear path about 10 degrees to the left of straight ahead because when I nailed my start the front wheel was off the ground and that was where we were going. Front wheel usually re-acquainted itself with the pavement after the 1-2 shift allowing me to adjust our trajectory. My new(ish) F1 just goes straight (or lights up the tire and just sits there), relatively boring by comparison.

Passenger error, get him (or her) to lean forward over the tank to give you a bit more weight up front, if he gets the feel for the bike you can spin the wheel and get grip as he moves back.
