The Dave Wells Trophy

Hi everyone
It gives me great pleasure to announce that the ACU and the TT organisers have very kindly agreed to have a trophy in memory of Dad.
The trophy will be awarded to the highest placed newcomer passenger in the Sidecar TT Races.
As most of you will be aware, Dad took many a newcomer passenger under his wing especially at the TT.
He loved going on the newcomer bus trips, telling stories about picking flowers for Roy and which corners to work and not to work depending on where there could be a photographer. He often said he wasn’t sure if anyone learnt anything from the bus trip but he hoped they would at least ease some nerves at least.
Joking aside he was always on hand to offer any advise he could and by his own admission he couldn’t tell anyone how to win the TT but he could hopefully give enough knowledge to get them round safely. He also said newcomer passengers deserve rewarding for their hard work.
Thank you to Gary Thompson , Bruce Baker, Paul Phillips, Lloyd Mister , Richard from SB trophies, Sir Uncle Roy Hanks and our sidecar fairy god mother Pat Hamblin for making Dad’s wish come true.
I know Wellsy will be disappointed that he can’t be there but I also know he will be filled with same pride he felt every year for every TT competitor
Wishing you all a happy and safe TT
Love
Sarah
