OK, the meaningful bit of the 2012 TT is past. John H is mending, Moly has packed away his new reps, the 2012 newcomers are still zinging...
I now have a passenger and a team coming for newcomer weekends...
If you are thinking of doing the 2013 or even 2014 TT, get in touch to book the newcomer weekends.
The dates are 3/4 November 2012 and 23/24 February 2013.
Newcomers are entitled to the cost of one ferry or flight across paid, and I arrange accommodation with slidey or slidey-friendly people. I can also arrange laps with experienced drivers / passengers, and a driver to take you round so you don't get arrested for erratic driving or crashing into some civilian who didn't realise you were imagining you were on the closed roads!

Is a newcomer visit compulsory?

No, but anyone who doesn't take up the offer doesn't look as if they take the TT and its difficulty seriously. Free travel, free accommodation, lots of laps and some of the best TT brains to pick... what's to not like??

We will come to a newcomers weekend in 2014 or 2105 regardless but maybe you can get a head start prodding the IOM gov into helping defray that a bit by then. See you in a year or two.

Hi Chris it might be worth you getting in touch with Dags on here. He is from Oz and this TT was his second so you can see how he went about learning the course

I spoke with Dags & Matty at length at this years TT. Along with a lot of other crews. I have the videos, the notes and just bought a PS2 and the TT game yesterday. In between all the road closures I managed a couple of laps around the course (if you include hunting for wayward sidecar teams around midnight, after the roads re-opened post-practice). I also made a voice recording of Kew talking me through all the sections and corners. So I have lots of study materials
