We've taken the hydraulic clutch off 2008 LCR with K8 as it was hard to get enough throw on the lever to disengage without any drag. Originaly fitted with the flatter bars & now has the Webbo type.
Fitted the earlier cable setup & it's too heavy to use. Any clues?

Weve used the hydraulic system for the last three seasons Duncan with no problems. Much better than the cable set up, lighter and easy to find neutral. The cable set up was ok though and not too heavy as you describe. To get the correct ratio with the Suzuki slave cylinder you need a handlebar cylinder of 19mm diameter.

What bars are on the bike Geoff? Were having trouble fitting the hydraulic setup under the fairing.

You wont be able to fit the standard Suzuki Handlebar cylinder Duncan ,( unless you altered the bodywork). We used a Brembo unit, not cheap but worth it. We got ours from Harris in the UK but Scott Lawrie got his off the internet a lot cheaper. We used the standard LCR handlebars, from Mick Webster or LCR.

You could consider a Brembo/Ducati type with the remote reservoir, if you can mount it close by.

Hi Duncan, You could try a longer (std length) handle bar lever, you may have the short type ( that I used ) . this makes the clutch harder to use. Also don't have any tight bends in the cable run. Good luck.

He's bought about 5 different types of master cylinders, Brembo radial, normal style & others. He just can't seem to get it to work nice & fit under the fairing. We've put the flatter type bars on & will try that.
My K6 with cable works fine. Are the clutch spring setup different K6 to K8?

We use the k6 cable clutch cover with the k8 engine. Ben has no problems with it.

Apart from at Brands

The daft thing is we got the idea off Johns bike when he was racing. John had a 16mm cylinder fitted, it was very light but Harris said to go for a 19mm unit. Next season Ben was riding their bike ,had problems so tried a 19mm unit, still had problems and spent most of the season with our cable set up on. All I can say is we had no problems at all. The bonuses being,no farting around setting the freeplay and much easier to find neutral.

Yes Geoff, I loved the feel of the hydraulic clutch but just can't convince Ben to go back to it. I didn't have any problems using it, but it's weird how just changing riders and nothing on the bike suddenly made the hydraulic one unusable?

Those problems from brands are still with us Richard, not having much luck resolving the situation either but the k6 clutch works fine for Ben. He is spoilt and gets what he wants

If the bolt holes on the sprocket cover are the same (I think they are ), a hydraulic cover from K7 /K8 will fit with the correct length pushrod Malc.

On the pushrod you say correct length would you use a k1 or the later one k8

Most likely a K7/8 but you would have to check to make sure you have some free play with the piston pushed back.
