Michael Dunlop has just confirmed that in addition to his Solo entries in this weekend’s
Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough, he will be making
his first competitive outing in a Sidecar outfit.
The current Southern 100 Solo Champion, had originally intended to compete at an earlier
meeting at Oliver’s Mount this year, but this fell through due to his late solo commitments.
Race organiser, Peter Hillaby has confirmed that the sidecar outfit, owned by outright
sidecar lap record holder around the 2.43-mile North Yorkshire course, since 2008, Nick
Crowe will be preparing the machine for Michael to race on Saturday and Sunday.
Michael's passenger has yet to be announced

I think the problem with MCN is the lack of knowledge from the people who work there. It's easy to report on BSB. WSB, and Moto GP as it's all on the internet so they can pick up their reports from there.
They need people who understand our sport, and the grass roots of bike racing in general, including. Club and national racing of all disciplines.
Really it is not Motorcycle News anymore, just a bike paper full of adverts, and lets face it by Wednesday we have all watched Moto Gp, etc on the box. So its yesterdays news, and a stack of adverts for £2.00 ish I don't buy it now.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, media is changing. Of course if you happen to own a bike shop then there are opportunities to advertise on here

reasonable rates

Micky d has matured as a solo rider about 10 years in the last 2 years and he has been itchying to ride sidecars for the last three he has the sence not to make a fool of himself and Dan would'nt be getting on with him if he did'nt think he was capable and safe neither of these two need publicithy and this is great for our sport i hope the boys have a great run and Mickys solo sponsers for next take him on board as a solo/sidecar racer he can do this meeting in my opion because it dont matter if it hiss's off sponsers for he'll be looking for new ones for next year and if he's good at both he'll be an all round peoples hero well worth sponsering

Interesting stuff!! Last time i rang the mcn editorial to ask about sidecar reporting, they told me 'no one wants to read it'. I hope Mr Dunlop has a good ride and its not at the expense of his fellow racers fairings, etc, or indeed his own teams budget. He's a hard solo rider and he's probably not used to paying for the damage. Lets hope all entrants have good races and this stunt gives good publicity to the sport.
