How much difference will new shocks make?

I have a F1 with leading link front end and my shocks, although good ten years ago are showing their age. Would new ones make a big difference or just rebuild the existing ones? Is it worth the extra money to get 'top of the range' or would the basic ones be better value?

Hi Jeff
If you had asked me that a year ago I would have said that most “top of the range” shocks were over priced and didn’t really do what they ‘say on the can’, but . . . . . We have been working with Nitron shocks since the beginning of last year, and we believe they have really made a difference.
Nitron are a UK suspension manufacturing company who have built up an envious reputation in the car racing world over a number of years.
The main difference being not only their competitive prices and the use of the very latest suspension technology, but the fact that they are actually very interested in manufacturing Sidecar specific units, rather than unit adapted from something else.

As a testimony to success of the equipment, we ran Dave Molyneux at the TT last year, given that there is no harsher test of suspension than the TT, especially at the race winning lap speeds that Dave is doing.
With combined effort of Dave’s feedback, with West Performance and Nitron, the results speak for themselves, even Dave was extremely happy with his set-up (which, if you know Dave, is a achievement in itself ! )
Guide Price is around £900 a pair for front units and £500 for a rear, these are top spec gas units, prices may vary depending on make/type (F1- F2) etc.
If you need more info, just give us a shout. Stop Shop/West Performance are Solus distributors of Nitron Sidecar race products.

Hi Wal,

Mark Jefferies from Nitron was out testing at Lydden Hill at the weekend with some great feedback.

When you get the chance - please give Mark a call!

thanks!
