Yes, he is... remember his brother-in-law is Patrick Farrance. He's a sidecar fan, and friends with many sidecar people.

He told me that he's more interested in being a Passenger, 'Sidecar rider' Stan' than driving.

Patrick has had a few goes at driving, including one many years ago at a "sidecar experience" (taxi rides) I did at Knockhill. They were obsessed with safety and checking that all drivers were experienced etc. Standing with the, very nervous, circuit manager, I saw Andy Laidlow's outfit go past... Andy was standing beside me (!!).. Patrick was driving... Could have strangled him, but the fella didn't notice...phew..

We had the last laugh anyway. After a couple of hours and tons of money raised and people done laps, we packed up and the "Hot hatch" day started. First car, first lap.. first corner... rolled and written off! The circuit manager came over specially to tell me!

Sidecars safe... cars dangerous!
