We use the same fuel as the team who's fuel is currently being tested. It complies with the ACU & FIM & CRMC fuel regulations, which are research octane number 102 motor octane number 90 oxy 2-7%. The rule for avgas is that you can use as a 50/50 mix with super unleaded from any fuel station. The motor octane number for avgas 99.5-99.6 depending on manufacturer, but there is no research octane number for this fuel. Having looked at the specs for a lot of fuels it seems that RON can be anywhere between 4% & 12% greater than the MON,dependent on the other components of the fuel so based on that theory avgas could have a RON of between 103.48 - 111.44. (If a test were to be done). So it seems logical that this is the reason that FIM & ACU rule for avgas is the 50/50 mix. I think that random fuel testing is a good thing and support the club 100%.

CRMC have a website , The CRMC Forum as I understand is run by members of CRMC but not under the jurisdiction of the club. I think this is correct, If I am wrong someone will tell me.

The fuel Terry is using is completely within the rules, there can be no objection to it.
I do think though, random fuel testing is a good suggestion, in view of the rumours that have circulated the paddock this season.

Ed, I am not worried about Terry but was giving my support to the team being tested,

Shouldnt the CMRC consider not using expensive race fuel at all in these hard times ? It would also be a level playing feild for those that cannot afford race fuel and make their bikes more competitive because of the advantage of running race fuel ie more compression and timing.
Surely std unleaded is easier to police also.

Iam now being told that a sample was taken, but is not being tested,
Seems very strange.

Hello Munster from what I know the test is going ahead. Mike I think your suggestion is something which has very creditable reasons, there would be a lot of people who find this very acceptable but alas there are those in the club who already abuse the rules openly displaying their cans with the label showing a description of the contents, I have seen octane ratings of 105-109. I really don't think these people give a dam

So when was this 'rocket fuel' use agreed, never in the original rules?
