The FSRA have been liasing with the acu and Manx goverment to try and make some sense of this mess that has been forced on to us . And there will be some slightly amended TT regs shortly and also regarding the British Championships Scarborough and S100 we are also in negotiation with them regarding that as Tony and others you are correct people are not going to want to have 2/3 engines for tt and 1/2 for british champs . Its a ridiculous scenario. I had the day off work yesterday and sat on the phone all day regarding this . So please bear with us .

The Sidecar Class for TT 2014 will run technically as below:
The only permitted engines for this class are:
501 – 600cc, 4 stroke, 4 cylinder, Production based
Rotary engines are not permitted.
Over-boring is not permitted.
Induction systems:
501 – 600cc, 4 stroke: Any carburettor is permitted.
501 -600cc four-stroke Fuel injection engines: Fuel injection systems are permitted using only the
throttle-bodies as homologated for the engine concerned.
The injectors must be standard units as on the homologated engine.
Bell mouths, intake tract devices (Velocity stacks, air funnels) may be modified or replaced.
Butterfly cannot be changed or modified. Where fitted a secondary butterfly or slide may be locked in
the fully open position.
Any fuel pump may be used.
Homologated fuel pressure must remain unmodified.
The fuel ignition ECU and Ignition Control Unit may be changed.
The camshaft duration is free but the lift must remain as homologated.
The cam chain or cam belt-tensioning device is free.
Cam sprockets or cam gears may be modified or replaced to allow the timing of camshafts.

Gary Thompson, Clerk of the Course wishes to advise some further points as clarification as follows –
· Throttle Bodies. Older throttle bodies can be used on newer engines and new Throttle Bodies used on older engines – provided that the Throttle Body is from a 600cc machine.
· The camshaft is free (lift and duration).
· Low Friction Coatings may be used.
A full version of the regulations will be issued at the turn of the year as usual. In the mean time if anyone has any questions that remain unanswered, please feel free to contact myself or Gary.
Best wishes
Paul

Note that, in the first part of the informations above, "the lift [of the camshaft] must remain as homologated" and, in the second part "the camshaft is free (lift and duration)" !!
Replying to my question, Paul Phillips wrote me that the camshaft is free (lift and duration).

Have I missed it or is skimming /gasflowing of the head allowed. Then it says full regs available at the turn of the year. That will leave loads of time. Unbelievable.
