Dear bills-mate,

Hi i will be returning the dvd back to you for a refund as this was a present and its of poor quality and it looks like a copied version of which would then be illegal. What is the return address please?

The item in question is:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291011835193? ... 1561.l2649
of which I have sold around 500 dvd's. Just look at my feedback. I know this twerp is going to leave negative feedback whatever I do.

Sorry - assumed the swearing editor would have cut in. Changed it now. Think you're right Daph, he's trying to blackmail me over copyright etc. which is not an issue. Would have copied it himself by now anyway. Had fourteen days to apply for a refund which has now expired by several days.

Tell the nob through eBay messaging you will send him another copy foc,if he sends his copy back first. but explain the early b&w vids are just that poor quality due to age of footage and been converted from cine film. That way eBay will see your reply and see you have acted as a responsible seller.
I have bought lots of DVDs off eBay and most of them are copied off a master.
Your good feedback will say it all chap

Where do I send mine back, b&w early footage is not HD quality ??

I've never had a problem with eBay in the past, but I don't sell that much.

However with two out of the last three items I've sold, I appeared to have become a victim of extreme tw*tness.

One guy left negative feedback after buying an optical sensor (a new £40 item that he got for less than a fiver) because it was "smaller than I thought." I put a link to the manufacturers spec sheet in the item description.

Another bloke paid £60 quid for a £300 pair of race shocks that had been fitted in the workshop but never used (as stated in the description). He contacted me to complain that they were not new and one needed a new seal because it was leaking. He wanted some of his money back. I told him to f*ck off and send them back for a refund if he wasn't happy. I never heard another thing from the bloke.

Thanks for your advice Brian and Nick, This is what I have replied:
Q: Hi i will be returning the dvd back to you for a refund as this was a present and its of poor quality and it looks like a copied version of which would then be illegal. What is the return address please? 31-Dec-13
A: I note your concerns regarding the DVD that you purchased on the 8th December. This is the first time that anyone has ever requested a refund for this item, which contains exclusive footage from the 1960's and 1970's and was originated on 8mm cine film as an amateur record (as described) by persons who were also involved in the identities of the competitors and locations etc.when we were re-mastering the footage onto digital video format. The re-mastering was carried out in our studios with the assistance and co-operation of the copyright holders and some of the competitors featured. Due to the age of the material (gathered before the advent of the domestic video camera) it was unlikely to be of HD quality and I would therefore remind you that the description of the item bears this out. Your reference to the item being a copy is correct, all DVD's that are produced for retail consumption are copied from a master, usually stored on a HDD disk drive as is the case with ours. Sound used on the DVD was also recorded by ourselves from various racing circuit locations as the original cine film had no sound, and all music used was royalty free material for which our music department subscribed to the appropriate artists. Your accusation that there was anything illegal in the production of this item is totally without foundation. However, even though the 14 days return period has expired (this was also clearly stated on the listing) we will refund your purchase if you return the item in the original packaging. The return address is clearly shown on the postage label attached to the packaging sleeve. We are sorry that you are not happy with this product which has been enjoyed by a multitude of satisfied customers as you may have noted that our Ebay feedback alone would suggest.
Ask seller a question
Of course I don't imagine he has kept the original packaging.....

I'd love to get one. Will you ship to the US? I'll even take the returned copy! :)

Ebay are terrible to deal with. They just closed our ebay shop for poor seller performance.
We have 1093 transactions with a 99.4% positive rating.
Their issue was our delivery time of 30 days ( our products are made to order )
Out of a 5 star rating for delivery time we are rated at 4.6 stars - this is what they closed us for.
We had 4 people in the last year say our delivery was slow, even though we can prove we delivered to them within the 30 days specified.
Ebays response is that it doesnt matter if you quote 30 days delivery on the advert. If the customers wants it in 14 days and leaves feedback to that effect then you should have delivered in 14 days.
