I have a F2 engine with Holmes Tuned on the head. The cases have been numbered and there's what looks like a completion engine number on the back of the gearbox.
I'm interested in finding out some of the history so if anybody knows who might of worked on it let me know

I would give Tony a ring with all the information you already know and he may be able to fill you in

Tony Holmes is yes. What is the engine, what do you know of it already? You might find it is known even without ringing tony (although that's a good idea anyway, he will know the last time he worked on it)

Its a Yam ThunderCat, can't remember the numbers.
Ran total loss, and half a flywheel, no starter gears, and right hand gear change

I think the 3.99 above the front engine mount could be a date ?
The cases have
2N
080
And on the back of the gearbox
556656

Numbers on the back of the gearbox are the codes for the main bearing shells , other half of the code numbers found on the crank
