Castrol srf is the only fluid that I would use. Very expensive but worth every penny, I can never understand people who use cheaper brake fluid, and then regularly complain of brake problems.

But be careful buying it cheap on ebay as it could be old stock. Its dated on the bottle. I saw a bottle that was stamped 2007 that he got beginning of this year. Possibly be nothing wrong with it but I wouldn't use it.

Castrol SRF is the benchmark brake fluid. We have also used Performance Friction fluid for Phils last 3 years with the F1 and found it every bit as good as the SRF. Now weve got an F2 we use the latest Motul racing brake fluid , same as our Ian has been using for the last couple of years. If we went back to an F1 we would go back to the Perforemance Friction fluid.

I use the Motul RBF600 fluid and have found it to be excellent, their oil and brake fluid is top quality.

:notworthy: The guys above are right. :notworthy:

I've been moaning all year about brake fade. Bought a litre of Castrol SRF on Sunday morning and problem was solved. Paid £58 for a litre.

Sorry I didn't listen earlier. I thought the 5.1 I was using should of been good enough. I was wrong.

I used AP PRF 660 for ages with no issues. Finally went for SRF & have had problems with a long/soft pedal ever since. Going back to AP.

Same as what we use, haven't ever had a problem but we do bleed and replace fluid fairly regularly

Got reason to beleive gold coloured bottles of SRF are not genuine castrol product, anybody know anything about this.

I was under the impression that when castrol re-branded SRF as React SRF that the product changed so I called their technical department and asked if the fluid was exactly the same as it had been before re-branding. They where evasive to say the least eventually I was told that the ingredients had changed but the fluid would perform as well as the older type.
Practically my experience with the newer type was not as good as before whereas I would change fluid 2 or maybe 3 times a season to be on the safe side I found that I was getting a "long pedal" every other meeting.
toward the end of the season I talked to my suppliers (Raceparts) about alternatives and through them used a new product from AP racing called Radi-CAL R4 race fluid which has an even higher boiling point than SRF. It is even more expensive than SRF but it worked for me. Hope this helps
