Do you know what your bike weighs? Is an F2 a lot lighter than an F1?

cheers Si

I think an f1 is about 225kg dry, just trying to gauge the difference between f1 and f2 weights. Was in a discussion earlier and it cropped up about the 600s and how they would pull an F1. I just wondered how much more weight there really is on a big 'un, I said less than people think but I'm not sure now

So it is your contention that the parts of the s/c weigh less when disassembled?
Or did some kind sole donate new body work to the cause?
Hopefully you passed on the sentiment that "a little bumpy but shiny is better than show quality but too heavy to lift" to the eager body work refinishers.

Chris, Why don`t you put it on the scales? You may well be pleasantly suprised! unless you have added a lot of weight, via a demon welder. M.R. Equipe F2 frames were possibly the lightest and strongest around when yours was built, and were untll he stopped building them!. (Lighter than any l.c.r. and stronger.)

Sorry, inside joke/conversation being carried on in a public forum.
To answer your question: A) because I kept forgetting to weigh it after finishing all the necessary prep for the next event and B) because my F2 and I are currently over 4000 miles apart.
If we remember, have time and Paul Lumley has some scales handy, maybe I'll know the real weight in a couple of weeks. Suspect my fairing is a bit on the hefty side though.
Chris

IF you dont believe me ASK KENNY HOWELLS. Ask how not a single weld OR frame member, or tube broke when he crashed flat out in top gear at the I.O.M.
