not sidecars (thankfully)

Unread post by steve-e »

Watch this from about 18mins for a couple of minutes.
How not to put a red flag out properly.
The commentators say the flags were out but I can't see how the boys carried on if they really were?

They were not!

You can see the guy on the last corner with his yellow flag by his side and everyone else just standing around chatting.

Scary!

unbelievable :o Thank the lord no one hit the car. Our boys and girls in orange are top class and wouldn't let that happen. Perhaps it might be an idea not to park a car on the track.

Technology must be there to put a red light on the dash of each bike :?: So when there is a red flag there can be no doubt that everyone has seen it

I checked with Sis as one of the KRP bikes was out there and there weren't flags, no dash stuff either(someone on FB suggested there was so I had to be 100% sure before responding).
So lucky it wasn't on a blind corner, at least the kids had a chance to see it before they got on top of it.

To be fair, you don't actually get much of a look at that sector, as you come upon it over the crest really fast.

I thought the riders should have been congratulated on doing so well, rather than castigated for ignoring flags that weren't actually shown.
Every organiser gets it wrong sometimes and a little humility goes a long way in repairing any damage of trust that is done.

Young riders learn by example and if they are confronted by arrogance in situations like this, they will think that is how the world is supposed to be.
