Michael, That belt is a lot better and safer than the original odd looking chain that they ran in the seventies.

Tony, 2strokes are allowed in period 4, there has been a 750cc Suzuki kettle in this class, and Saab in p3. so no problem with strokers !! :D :D

Hi John, its my understanding that period 4 is not encouraged(Ie entries are not wanted for this class),and that the Kettle was only allowed to run because the owners have raced solos with the club?
If this is wrong then maybe I will put narrower wheels and treaded tyres on the late 70s style Kettle I am building and enter period 4.
The SAAB was tolerated because its pre 67,and its no longer possible to make it competitive with the current machinery.

Tony, Period 4 allows bikes which are difficult to define as classic, it's not contested at the moment as no one enters anything. The SAAB was a legitimate classic it wasn't just tolerated!!! It was a quick bike and gave a good account of itself and would again if it was brought out to play although sometimes a little delicate. Late 70's style bike I doubt would get eligibility.

as the builder/owner of , i was told, in no uncertain tones , when i inquired of eligibility of said, that neither the chassis nor THE ENGINE, would EVER be allowed to race in UK.HOWEVER the outfit was made most welcomed by the forgotten era club, god bless their soul!!
