Derby Phoenix rises from the ashes with the support of Thundersport GB to put on an excellent weekends meeting. Twenty one outfits took part with seven teams entering the FSRA F350/Post Classic & pre-injection Championship. Great to see Gordon Jones back out for the first time with his new F350 .New to the championship was Gary Wilson with Clair Duplock Baker Suzuki RF900 and Wesley Pittman and Paul Jeffery with their Thundercat. This has made a total of fourteen teams who registered and raced in this year’s championship giving me the encouragement to carry on with the F350/Post Classic & pre-injection championship in 2016.

Results Saturday Race 1

First Pete Millington/ Bob Dawson Thundercat, with brothers Tony Neil Wheatley Ireson TZ 750 second. New team Wesley Pittman/Paul Jeffery Thundercat third Marianne Walford Kerry Hughes fourth.

Results Saturday Race 2
Pete Millington Bob Dawson second win. Wesley Pittman/Paul Jeffery takes second Marianne and Kerry third, all three on 600 Thundercats.

Results Sunday race 1
First win for Wesley Pittman/Paul Jeffery, Marianne and Kerry second Gordon Jones/Bob Dawson TZ350 third.

Results Sunday race 2
Wesley Pittman/Paul Jeffery second win of the day Wheatley’s TZ 750 second, Gordon Jones/Bob Dawson third Marianne and Kerry forth. Gary Wilson with Clair Duplock Baker Suzuki RF900 repaired but unfortunately again an air lock in the cooling system caused their retirement.

The Derby Phoenix program shows plans for a 2016 race program with possible rounds at Donnington Snetterton as well as Cadwell Mallory and Anglesey let’s hope these come true. The program also shows the casualty list of twenty four motorcycle road racing clubs now gone.
Final points standings are hopefully attached

I would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to get Gary and me out again on Sunday. After retiring in race one with a scorching hot engine and stone cold radiator the bike wouldn't start and we feared the worst. Dave Tibbles and friend (can't remember his name, sorry), Tony Wheatley and Grime (Batty's spannerman) all worked tirelessly into Saturday evening and continued on Sunday morning, troubleshooting the problem and discovering the melted components, to get us back onto the track for the last race on Sunday. We were going well, but I had to tap Gary in lap 6 as our main fairing had come off it's mountings and all the body work was loose! When we got back to the paddock we discovered that we hadn't fixed the overheating after all, so stopping when we did may have saved us from worse engine damage.

Despite our mixed weekend we had a great time, the club ran a good, well-organised meeting and Cadwell was, as always, superb. Thanks to everyone involved, and massive congratulations to Wesley.

This has the makings of a really great championship. I am so pleased that it is starting to come together for you all and wish you all the success you deserve in the future.

You know that the bikes are out there, now that you have the championship camaraderie to go with it there will be no stopping you.

I know that Derby Phoenix really appreciated your support and hopefully that will be the start of a long term relationship between you.

Once again, congratulations to Wes on his first win and to Dave & Mark on their championship win.
