A total of fourteen teams took part in last year’s F350 Post Classic
and Preinjection championship and over this past year the interest has
grown. Hopefully the new teams who have either contacted me or shown
interest will be out next year. Maybe a comment on this Forum stating
their interest would be positive for the championship and supporting
clubs. There is Joe Heys and myself so far. The dates are all confirmed
except for Aintree but I am awaiting confirmation.
Also I am thinking of doing the Emra Mallory March 20th meeting as a non
championship test day? Also a non championship round at East Fortune
later in the year.
2016 F350 Post Classic Preinjection championship dates
23 April 2016 Oulton Park Wirral 100
14 May Aintree to be confirmed
25/26 June Anglesey Wirral 100
9/10 July Croft Derby Phoenix
20/21 August Cadwell Derby Phoenix
11 September Mallory EMRA

Why are you making East Fortune a non championship race after the support they have giving the championship in the past ?

I will add my name to the list - although I'll not be at the August Cadwell - as it clashes with another meeting we're quite keen to do.(Involves a Ferry trip

)
Ewan has a good point about E/F - I think Melville usually have a mid July meeting - which we've supported in the past - or September - and although it's a bit of a hike - it's usually been worth the effort.
Mind you - it's unlikely Julie's going to be able to return to the job for a while - so I'll be looking for a suitable passenger (applications / CV's in writing etc

) - I'll post the qualifications later...

- we'll not be out at all if that doesn't happen.
PS - there'll be a complete Shelbourne 350 chassis available (for sale) for anyone else wanting to join in...

PLEASE note : Normally ads should stay in the classifieds section - but it's quiet round here so I'll not bother this time round

Sorry Steve - probably my fault for putting that bit about my old bike in there...

The reason why I made the decision to not go to East Fortune as a championship round was because of last year and most of the teams taking part in this new championship do have limited funds.
The major costs involved with East Fortune are the traveling costs and time which usually means Friday off work for some. Tony Wheatley from Darlington was the most northern championship contender last year and myself was the only two who entered as the new F350 Post Classic Preinjection Championship.
Presently the championship has six rounds over six months with only six rounds it helps to reduce the championship overall costs.
Melville has struggled to fill sidecar grids this year I believe at one of their rounds this year the sidecar race was cancelled.
But personally I do agree that the Melville is a great club and most welcoming, that is why I plan to enter one of their club meetings to give them support. Hopefully those who are interested in supporting Melville MCC can come together and enter one of their 2016 rounds and the 2017 championship may be a different story as I get the views throughout this year.

Just lost interest in this class with the dropping of east fortune. A club that has supported the class and you drop it from the championship. Not happy !!!!

Sad fact of life Ewan, these southerners expect us to travel miles, and take days of work to get to race meetings, but they wouldnt dream of doing it.Most of them want to race at the end of there drives!1 passenger last year was moaning about travelling to Anglesey-from Leistershire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you know Dave was the ONLY southerner to make the trip up last year.

Perhaps if more northerners, including our cousins north of the border bothered to support the series Tony, then there might be more rounds up't north. Dave clearly can't please every so he is right to work with the majority in my opinion. If in a couple of years there are more northern teams then I'm sure it will change.

You're right Tony, northern and proud
I blew a motor at Mallory and due to a clerical error wasn't entered at Cadwell which is why having only given it very little support I'm not moaning about it not meeting all my needs. Maybe in a couple of years when I've done most of the rounds, I'll expect to have a say.
