A great weekend but in one way, due to financial issues the Derby Phoenix decided to make this their last possibly ever meeting. The Derby Phoenix has always been a club that promoted sidecar racing with their first road race meeting at Cadwell in 1967. Pete Minion one of their stalwart members did at this weekend meeting have he has done since 1983 sponsor an additional open sidecar race. This gave us four championships and two Pete Minion races in all six sidecar races over the weekend.
Great news for our championship Aden Lane of Lane building services has come aboard and helped by providing trophies for the top three of every race. Aden a sidecar passenger from the past wants to be involved with the sport and came along with his son for the weekend.
