Re: Training going well
What are you training for?
1299 ft of elevation in 50 miles is a fairly flat ride.
This is one of my regular routes.
Short but hilly.

Re: Training going well
I'm only riding so I remember to breathe when I go passengering
I ride through london most days to and from the office, St.Pancras to Lewisham and back. I'm getting into it a bit now, nowhere near being a strong cyclist yet but give me time and I'll get there
I am doing London to Brighton on good friday, starting at midnight with the London Brompton Club. Not a quick ride they say so I should be ok

The last 4 weeks, I'm getting into it. The 35 miles this week is just because the week only started yesterday

Steve's my inspiration

The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight.
But they, while their companions slept, were toiling upwards in the night.

Re: Training going well
Ah yes. I do know it
my old bike club had a chapter in Williton and then moved across towards Umberleigh so I used to spend quite some time down there ( not forgetting the girlfriend in dunster of course)
I blew it this morning , woke up half hour late...

Re: Training going well
Williton and Dunster are in Somerset.
I live in Braunton. It's possible to do a fairly flat 62 mile ride along the Tarka Trail and back, but anywhere else involves hills.......lots of lovely hills.
If you can cycle here, you can cycle anywhere.
Off out today for a bit of training, with the missus, for our Tour de Midlands in 3 weeks time.
We did a 160 mile Tour de Devon last year with friends from up country and they are returning the favour.

I doubt whether they would televise six OAPs on a pub crawl....steve-e wrote:Tour de Midlands, I expect to see that on Eurosport
