The Pre TT classic has yet again done its job to provide some of the finest racing you will see anywhere in the world, practice was held in bright conditions until a delay on Friday caused the first Sidecar race to be re worked into the race programmee at a later stage than scheduled .
The first race for the sidecars turned out to be one of the feature races of the weekend with no less than 3 outfits chasing the early leaders No 4 Rod Bellas/Danny Quirk and No 23 Vince Biggs/Vicky Cooke. Things started to hot up when after a couple of laps when Greg Lambert lost the use of his clutch going into Ballakeighan, clipped the kerb on the outside and ended up with the arse end pointing skyward while trying to turn right towards Iron Gate.
He then lost the tow from outfits No 5 and 24 who went on to finish 3rd and 4th respectively .
Vince Biggs won by just over a second from very hard charging Rod Bellas and Danny Quirk.

Boote/Gale 900 Nourish

Thanks to everyone concerned with the classic sidecars including Dick Hawes who I got to meet for the first time.
Mollys Bregazzi Yamaha was listed to race in the Open Classic Race and a photo of the said machine as below,

Taken at the bare arse photo exhibition in the paddock/hospitality area
The open sidecars held in damp conditions was just as exciting as the previous races with Molly and Dan Sayle starting from a 4th row position but made short work to get near the front with Vince Biggs and Vicky Cooke, Molly and Dan were swapping places with Vince on lap 3 of 4 and finally took the lead going into Castletown Corner . Vince and Vicky never gave up the hunt and followed Dave and Dan for the final lap and ended up passing the Yamaha crew and simply out dragged them to the line for yet another win on the Busch BMW.
I must admit listening to Howard Langham's Koning crisp 2 stroke wheel spinning out of Castletown Corner and passing the access road was such a joy as I was not aware of sidecars during the time when they were the tools to use.
After a rather disappointing practice week with pi$$ poor weather it was nice to see the classic lads showing the pups how it used to be.
