Sidecar racing in South Africa.

Unread post by snikrep »

I am an ex sidecar passenger now living in South Africa where some years back international sidecar racing was held. But no more. I am trying to revive the sport here but as there are no sidecar teams here i have been trying to get teams from the UK but i do appreciate finances may be a problem. If any one is interested may be you could get in touch with some suggestions how it could be achieved. Would America, NZ or Poland be interested? Someone guid me please.

Chairs died a death in 1981 due to the poor quality of machinery with the exception of one Tin windle with a TZ 750 motor. I tried to gather up enough people to restart the chairs in 1984 but met with little interest to be honest. Only way to get sidecars going would be to import 10 or so and then it may take off, shipping outfits from here and teams is way too expensive and time consuming.
Good Luck.

Many thanks for the reply, i also found very little interest in chairs here and i do appreciate cost is a problem. I have tried to find a sponsor to get some guys here but no one will part with the amount i want. I hate to give up but i think i am flogging a dead horse.
