Just read the bad news on the front unfortunately don`t know how to do Facebook, so would like to say how sorry I am to read it, Dick is a great bloke, ready sense of humour, ready to help and advise and a top racer, one of lifes really nice people, good luck Dick I`m sure there will be many more people thinking of you at this time.

Really very sorry to read about Dick being so ill he will not grace us with his stories, smiles and terrible jokes at race meetings.
I hope that he can follow results knowing so many of the riders and spectators would wish him to be with them.
It just won't be the same at the Pre T.T. without Dick being there.
Such bad news.
Thanks for all the fun and help Dick.

Very sad news.
It was Dick who suggested that I "lay" my Puma engine down instead of having it verticle.
That was the begining of building my own outfit & yes, with the engine laying down. 20 years ago!!!

To all his many friends, I visited Dick yesterday in the hospital and I am sorry to say that he is in there for the long term. I was lucky enough to be his first passenger and we shared many good times together especially in the IOM.
I know him very well and I am sure he would wish you all the best of luck for the coming season.
Pam is quite distraught as you can imagine, so if anybody wishes to know more about Dicks situation I would be pleased to advise you.

Thank you Jimmy for keeping us all updated at this sad time in Dicks fight. I can only imagine and it’s heart breaking in these circumstances for all close to Dick and Pam.
I’m not sure of Dicks condition or details, but if you feel it to be appropriate can you say hello from me and a hug. Dick was very kind to me when I started racing 9 years ago and told me a few good stories about my late father.
Thank you. My thoughts are with Dick, Pam and yourself Jimmy.
Much love
Julie

Really sorry to hear about Dick - shared some great times in the 90's and 2000's at Mettet/Chimay and Assen with Dick whilst I was allegedly "helping" the Salmon team. As RP said this is becoming more common as we all get on in years. Best wishes to Pam and I hope Dick is not suffering.

To all his many friends.
I went to see Dick yesterday in Hospital, but I am sorry to say he was very confused and frustrated however he did recognise me and I tried
to talk about some of the times we had together,in our early days.
It appears that Dick will be in hospital for a considerable period and I doubt if we will see him again in a paddock for the forseable future.
I will continue to post updates following my visits to him.
