I'm continually getting calls to the house phone by people with a very strong Indian accent who tell me their name is David, Peter, Richard, Cyril etc??
They tell me that they are calling from BT Open Reach & that I have a fault with my internet service.
They ask me to go to my PC & switch it on.
I ask, am I with BT & they tell me yes, BT provides the internet supply to all internet providers.
I drag then along & listen to the crap they give me then tell them I'm with Virgin media & that they should go & ---- themselves, the line then gets cut off.
Anyone else get these calls?

Not spoke to a Cyril lately !
I normally ask what their surname is , then I ask why should I believe anything they say if they are lying about their name.

I get a lot of the ones that are a woman who starts talking, pauses for you to reply then carries on talking as if you're having a conversation but she's just a recorded message. If you don't say anything they just carry on talking for a while.
So put the phone down and leave them to it til they end the call. At least you've wasted as much of their time as they have yours

I have cordless phones that are badged by BT and they have BT true call and I’m with Virgin to. If the calling number is not in my phone book then the calling party gets an automated message to announce themselves if they want to be connected.

I get no cold/sales/marketing whatsoever.
