F1 front suspension question. New here, don't know where I should post.

I am a fan. I would like to build "cafe racer" rig, using some racer derived suspension. If this is an inappropriate place for this topic, please delete, as I don't want to clutter up the forum with newbie questions. I live in northern New England, and there is no F1 sidecar racing here, only vintage at the track in Loudon, New Hampshire. There is no opportunity for me to question F1 folks. If you have contacts with any East Coast Canadian F1 folks, I would welcome any info. So, to my question. Looking at a variety of F1 front suspensions online, it appears that the uprights have some KPI. Is the assembled suspension built with zero scrub radius, or is there some toe in the sidecar wheel to offset a scrub radius? Thanks for your time.

Have a chat with Jean-Guy Rattcliffe at CSR motorcycles which I believe is still located in Maxville Ontario. AFAIK he is the last one around here to construct an F1 chassis equipped with center hub front steering. Not sure if this contact info is still valid: Telephone: (613) 527-3183 E-mail:

The other North American F1 constructor is Bill Becker of Becker Moto Works in Apple Valley California.
I believe Bernard Juchli also built himself an F1 (twice) a few years ago.
And I think your answer is that a zero scrub radius is very important (but I'm no expert or constructor).
