It's with great sadness I report that John passed away yesterday.
John was a great character and we had many laughs and good times with him. He was no mean driver in his day until a bad accident at the TT in the early 90's. He then continued to support Rod and later Conrad Harrison. We'll miss his dry wit and observations and his knowledge of a wide range of subjects.
RIP John.

Sad news indeed Geoff. As you say he was a bit of a character, like a lot of the sidecar racers from those days. I remember seeing him one morning in the paddock at Scarborough the morning after he had imbibed in a couple of 'shandies' ;) the night before. He was laid out in the open air, where he had been all night, in a sleeping bag he had made himself from a blanket, totally oblivious to all the noise around him  and his whiskers were glistening with frost  . He seemed to be okay by the time racing started though :notworthy:
